Dr. Alan Keyes is an American conservative political activist, pundit, author, former diplomat, past presidential candidate for the United States, husband and father.

Ambassador Keyes has unashamedly and consistently raised the standard of unalienable rights and Biblical truth in defense of our unborn. He confronts the culture of death with compelling and inspiring reasons why abortion must be banned from our land. Alan's stated purpose in life, like that of America's Founders, is to provide a secure future for our posterity.

Dr. Alan Keyes is an unparalleled leader among moral conservatives. His Harvard Doctorate afforded him much training as a constitutional scholar, along with his extensive experience in American government and great faith in Almighty God's part in the founding of that government, combine to provide a cogent defense of morality of America!

Keyes was born August 7, 1950 in New York City, New York. A doctoral graduate of Harvard University, he began his diplomatic career in the U.S. Foreign Service.

In 1979, Dr. Keyes was sent to the consulate in Bombay India. It is there he met and later married the love of his life, Jocelyn Marcel of Calcutta, and raised their three children – Francis, Maya, and Andrew.  Alan and Jocelyn still live in the family home in Maryland. Keyes is a traditional Catholic and 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus.

Alan continued his work in the American Embassy in Zimbabwe and was eventually appointed to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations by President Ronald Reagan. Dr. Keyes also served as Reagan's Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations from 1985-1987.

Keyes most notable accomplishment in his capacities as UN Ambassador was his involvement in the shepherding of the Mexico City Policy which blocks U.S. federal funding for nongovernmental organizations who either provide abortion counseling or referrals, advocate to decriminalize abortion, or expand abortion services.

Since that time in the cause of moral conservatism, Dr. Keyes was drafted by the Maryland Republican Party to run for the U.S. Senate twice against the Democrat incumbent, however unsuccessfully. Dr. Keyes sought the Republican nomination for president in the 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 elections as well. He also made a bid to unseat Senator Barack Obama in Chicago.

Over the intervening years, Dr. Alan Keyes has kept quite busy as a speaker, a TV show host, call in radio personality, writing for his own blog, Loyal to Liberty, as well as Barbed Wire, Lifesite News, World Net Daily, and others.

Keyes continues to communicate his political beliefs based on American founding ideals, specifically those seen in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.  He served as Interim President of Alabama A&M University in 1991. He speaks French and Spanish and a little Russian and ancient Greek. Alan is the author of Masters of the Dream: The Strength and Betrayal of Black America (1995); andOur Character, Our Future: Reclaiming America's Moral Destiny (1996).
