Our Weekly Prayer Moment will begin shortly.
Please keep our prayer time reflective and holy by keeping your audio on mute during our moment.
Thank you for praying with us this week.
Come Holy Spirit!
Fill the hearts of Your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Your love,
send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created, and You shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray:
R: O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,
did instruct the hearts of the faithful,
grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in his consolation.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen
Today’s Good News Reminder
Matthew 25
Jesus said to his disciples: “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him. And he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’
Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And the king will say to them in reply,
‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for me.’
Reflection
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us about His kingdom in heaven. Not about what it is like, but about who will be there with him.
He confirms to us that He is the King who will sit on the throne and judge us. Through His judgement, He will place some on His right, and some on His left. Those on the left, who did not attend to the needs of their fellow man will not be present in the eternal kingdom.
However, the sheep on His right are those who recognized Jesus in their neighbors and followed His command to serve them. Jesus identifies with those who hunger and thirst… those strangers who need to be welcomed… those people without homes. And when we help the least of these, we help Jesus.
Our King tells us that this is what we need to do, and promises to recognize us in the next life… if we recognize Him in this one.
This is our GOOD NEWS!

Thank you for bringing us together for this PRAYER MOMENT. Bless and heal all who are affected by our challenging times, and send your comfort and peace to our school families.
Help us to recognize You in those around us who are hungry, thristy, strangers, homeless, or in need of help.
And be with all of us as we prepare for the challenges and the joys we will face this coming week.
